Dilfer also had a defense that set an NFL record for fewest points allowed EVER!! So Dilfer was IMO a much better QB than grossman but Rex is not that bad, other than his size and decision making he is actually pretty accurate and he does have some mobility. Just not the smarts and I’ll take smarts over arm strength anyday. And size does not matter in a QB; Brees is only 6ft and is IMO the 3-4 best QB with manning brady and rivers. Bottom line, Rex won the divisional playoff game against SEA
There is NO way to compare #8 to #18. And i’m not comparing them two, but to say that grossman lost the superbowl is just wrong and ignorent (as is the problem with most sports fans) Grossman did what he could with the 5th ranked D that allowed the colts to run on them ALL DAY and couldnt stop addai/rhodes. And M.Brown was a great saftey, but he is too fragile and never finishes a season (same for B.Sanders) so thats why his contract was not renewed. And Dilfer was a pro bowl QB in 97 too.
Nonetheless, Grossman had a lot of poor games that year.Manning is light years beyond what Grossman’s skill is/will ever be. You are right in that the better team won.You can make an argument for Harris, but Brown is a mediocre player. He wouldn’t have mattered much because Indy ran the rock down the bears throat. No denying this. Its on the film.If you want to compare Grossman to someone, try Dilfer, but even that is a stretch because Dilfer learned not to throw the ball away and won a ring.
get your facts straight kid, grossman had 1 game of 0 and guess what it was the last game of the regular season before he led the bears against the seahawks and won that game for the bears. And manning has lots of great ratings but its not always the best QB that wins but the team that can score and stop from scoring. CHI didnt have M.Brown or T.Harris while the colts only were out their starting CB. No excuse though, the better team won and manning deserved his ring.
Actually I have played football all my life. You my firend, obviously never played the game. You do udnerstand the qb can’t make the recievers run the correct routes, catch the ball, he can’t make the rb pass protect(benson), he couldn’t make the oline block, he couldn’t make the running back run well in order to have play action work right.
Grossman got us to the Super Bowl in his only year as a NFL starting qb. You can say what you want, but thats a feat.
Come on. Really? Really? Really? Did you watch that superbowl? If that superbowl was a part of the cub scouts Grossman wouldn’t even get a participation trophy for it. Grossman wasn’t a good player. There is a reason why he got benched for Kyle Orton. During the SB run he had games where his rating was 0. Yeah, thats right. 0.0. You’ll be waiting a long time for him to crack a starting lineup. Grossman follows a long line of terrible UF QB’s in the NFL.
And don’t let Akili Smith off the hook here. Why? Because he is black? Akili Smith and Vince Young should be taking it in the ass by the media. Vince Young has done nothing but whine and cry and pout like a little bitch. Akili Smith was the 3rd pick in the draft, dude. Much was expected from Smith. He was expected to lead the franchise to greatness as was Leaf as the 2nd pick. Grossman was the 22nd pick in the draft. Not as much was expected from him. He still made an impact.
There is no comparison between Grossman and Leaf dumbass. Grossman went 13-3 as a starter in his first year as a starter, threw for 3,200 yards and 23 touchdown passes. He helped his team reach the superbowl after a late season defensive letdown. He handled the media well and probably is one of the most mentally strong players for dealing with what he has. Yes, he turned the ball over alot and is probably a career backup, but a good backup. He is no Leaf. Gimmie a break!
well they were not put in major starting roles, and they werent allowed to continue to play after redic poor performances like Grossman or Leaf. And much more was expected from Leaf then Akili
